Yasir Qadhi: Proofs for the Existence of God

We read in the Qur’an:

“If you asked them, ‘Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?’ they would surely say, ‘Allah.’ Then how are they deluded? Allah extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing. And if you asked them, ‘Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?’ they would surely say ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘Praise to Allah’; but most of them do not reason.” [Surah Al-Ankabut, Ayat 61-63]

Muslims celebrate the event of Isra’ and Mi’raj

Today, Muslims celebrate the event of Isra’ and Mi’raj, or “the Night Journey and Ascension into Heaven”. It is the night when the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) was spiritually and physically transported from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to heaven where he reached a high stage of nearness to God Almighty.

The purpose of the Ascent was to confirm the high status of the Prophet of Islam. On the way, the Prophet (SAWS) met Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. It is said that the archangel Gabriel accompanied the Holy Prophet.
